I’m Vincent Jaeger, owner of Jaeger Guitar Repair in the Albany, NY area.

I started this shop for a simple reason: I’m impatient. I didn’t want to lose my guitar for three weeks just to get a setup. When you add a Floyd Rose bridge into the mix—and the extra cost that usually comes with it—it made even less sense, especially as everything else around us keeps getting more expensive.

One fall day, it finally clicked. Why can’t I learn to do this myself?

That question led me to Parsons Guitar Repair School in Mechanicville, NY. What started as a way to keep my own guitar playable quickly turned into a real passion for guitar repair, setups, and maintenance. I dove in headfirst, learning how to properly set up guitars, work on Floyd Rose systems, and keep instruments playing their best.

On March 1st, 2025, I earned my Journeyman Luthier / Guitar Tech certificate. After spending over 20 years as an active musician in the Albany metal and hardcore scene, word spread fast. Friends and local musicians began trusting me with their guitars, and I realized how much I enjoyed helping players avoid long shop wait times and get back to playing sooner.

In December 2025, I officially launched Jaeger Guitar Repair, serving guitarists throughout Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Saratoga, and the greater Capital Region. My focus is simple: honest guitar repair, clear communication, fair pricing, and faster turnaround times than the typical guitar shop.
